Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)

The Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) is a government funded program and provides for the delivery of low-level home support to older people for a short term or ongoing basis. The aim of the program is to help older people live as independently as possible — with a focus on working with you, rather than doing for you. It is about building on your strengths and abilities to help you remain living independently and safely at home

Community Visitor Scheme

Community Visitor Scheme (CVS)

The CVS program aims to enrich the quality of life of aged care home residents who are socially isolated or lonely, and would benefit from a friendly visitor. It also helps to establish links between people living in aged care homes and their local community.
A volunteer Community Visitor is matched with a resident of an aged care home and visits them at least once a fortnight. Visits are spent on an activity both enjoy such as reading, listening to music, chatting and reminiscing, watching a favourite TV program together, taking a walk together or going on an outing.
